4 Generations of Women

This week I am working on a scrapbook for my grandmother. In the process, I have been sorting through many old family photos. I found this old picture of my great-grandma "ReRe." She was quite a character from what I have heard. It brings me great comfort to know that I come from a long line of women who love to playfully be themselves, often silly extreme. Why not enjoy life to the fullest? A big thank you to Great-grandma "ReRe", Grandma Marilyn, and my mother who goes by "YaYa." The line continues...

Yankee Doodle Went To Town

Walker loves being a cowboy! "Yee-Haw!" This was a picture back from the fourth of July... but he still looks just like this. :)

Walker Meets A City Mouse...

So, we were excited that we had finally caught the mouse in our kitchen. However, it seems like there are many mice and therefore, we have been leaving the traps out. Well, the other night while all 3 of us were in the kitchen getting dinner ready... out wonders a little mouse. The strange thing was he was not startled by all the lights and noise that we were making. He didn't notice the traps at all and was boldly walking around.

I scooped up Walker and headed for the living room since neither of us had shoes on. Brent says, "I think I could catch this little guy right now." He proceeds to cover it with a glass cup and did in fact catch it right then and there! Walker and I are peaking in from the living room. Walker points and yells, "Mouse! Mouse!" So, apparently he was paying attention to that page of the animal book. :) Brent and I somehow get the live mouse into a bag and he continues outside to do whatever men do with mice. Walker yells, "Hold it, please. Hold it, please. Outside! Outside!" He wanted to hold the mouse and go outside with Daddy. I look outside to see if the coast was clear and see Brent smashing the bag against the deck. I tell Walker, "The mouse went bye, bye" hoping that will suffice.

Since then we have caught another mouse! That is 3 total mice caught in our kitchen. Thankfully Walker didn't see how this last one died or he might not be quite as drawn to mice anymore. I think it is time to head to the petting zoo again. :)
